Isamu Sam Terada, 85, passed away in his home with his loved ones on April 28, 1991.
Born February 24, 1906 in Osaka, Japan, son of Tomikichi and Yae Terada. He had an older brother, Kaname, who passed away in 1918. Isamu has lived in the states since he was 12 years old with his father in Santa Rosa, Calif. His father passed away; he then moved to San Francisco, Calif. During the war, he came to Utah and lived here for 48 years. He married his wife, Miyoko Terada, August 1956, in Osaka, Japan. Soon after, he brought his wife back to Salt Lake and raised their two children, Michael Mohei Terada and Yoko Ann Terada Murdock. He is a member of the LDS Church, and held the Melchezidek priesthood. He worked for many years at the Hotel Utah and St. Marks Hosptial. He was a very devoted and hard worker. He enjoyed taking walks and collecting oriental dolls.Survived by his wife, Miyoko Terada; two children, Michael Mohei Terada, and Yoko Ann Terada Murdock and husband, Kenneth C. Murdock; grandson, Kipridge Grant Murdock; and granddaughter, Kelsey Ann Murdock.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 1991 at 12 noon at the Dai Ichi Ward, (SL Granite Stake Center) 2005 South 900 East. Viewing will be held at Memorial Estates, 5850 South 900 East, 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 1991, and one hour prior at the church on Wednesday. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
