John Anderson, a computer science teacher at Uintah High School, is Utah's Teacher of the Year in a nationwide competition sponsored by IBM and Technology & Learning Magazine.

He will represent Utah in competition for the program's national Teacher of the Year honors, with the winner announced in the fall of 1991. Ten finalists for the national honor will be selected on a regional basis.Anderson won an IBM Personal System/2 Model 25 computer system, including an IBM Proprinter and an assortment of IBM software. The winners also will be recognized in a special May edition of Technology & Learning.

Student teams in Anderson's computer lab created an electronic voting and vote tabulation program for the 900-member Uintah High student body, taking an idea from conception to application.
