Our loving wife, mother, "Grandma", sister and friend, Rene Urry Price, age 70, died peacefully in her home, April 29, 1991, after a valiant struggle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Born September 12, 1920, Salt Lake City, a daughter of Herbert W. and Emma Irene Swaner Urry. Married Norman F. Price, October 10, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She spent her whole life in service to others. Member of the LDS Church having served as Ward Mutual, Primary and Relief Society presidents; Stake Primary Inservice Leader; ward Relief Society spiritual living teacher; and ward music director. An accomplished seamstress, she worked for her father in the Herbert W. Urry Studio of Interior Design - for 30 years. An accomplished vocalist, singing with the Oratorio Society of Utah for over 40 years, including this last Christmas performance.She was happiest when surrounded by her family who survive, husband, Norman F., South Salt Lake; daughter and three sons, LaRene Carlson and husband, Douglas, West Valley City; Mark Urry Price, Alexandria, Virginia; Lee Urry Price and wife, Lorraine; and Tim Urry Price and wife, Jenae, both South Salt Lake; nine grandchilren; five brothers and two sisters. One sister preceded her in death.
She will be missed more than words can express. We will always remember her special "Goodbye" at the window.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, noon, in the Eldredge Ward, 3219 South 300 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday 7-9 p.m., and at the Ward Thursday, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
