Arlen Eugene Hadley, 80, died Friday, April 26, 1991 in Layton.

He was born October 25, 1910 to John Hipwell and Laura Regetta Thurston Hadley in Ogden. He married Erma Louisene Bunot February 14, 1948 in Morgan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He retired from Civil Service in 1975 after 30 years of service. He had worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the LDS Church, High Priest in the Clearfield 3rd Ward. He was a temple worker in the Ogden Temple for several years. He was the recipient of the "Man of the Year Award" for Clearfield City. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed scouting and was Scout Master for many years. He received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Army, European Theatre.Surviving are four sons, Michael E. Hadley and his wife Kay, Kaysville; Dale L. Hadley and his wife Kim, Fruitheights; Craig J. Hadley and his wife LuAnn, North Ogden; Paul A. Hadley, Clearfield; 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters, Edward J. Hadley, and Thomas M. Hadley, both of Ogden; Robert T. Hadley, and J. Rodney Hadley, both of Bountiful; Mrs. Clarence (Virginia) Hope; Billie Simpson; and Donna Malan, all of Ogden; Mrs. Clyde (Jeri) Williams, Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his wife; and two brothers, LaMar Hadley, and Glen H. Hadley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at the Clearfield 3rd Ward Chapel, 231 East 300 North, with Bishop Reed Billman officiating. Friends may call Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State, and at the church on Tuesday, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

Arlen suggested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Boy Scouts of America.
