Ruth Parker Price departed this life on April 25, 1991 in a Salt Lake hospital following a long illness.
Born May 14, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Robert Burdette and Marie Buckley Parker. Married Charles E. (Ted) Price on February 23, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah; he preceded her in death September 10, 1977 in Fallbrook, California. She was a lifetime resident of Utah and lived in Southern California from 1968 through 1977. Resident of Wasatch Villa Convalescent Center since September 29, 1990. Ruth was a member of Murray Baptist Church, Murray, Utah. She was a past officer and member of Lynds Chapter #1, O.E.S.., and a member of the Flora Culture Garden Club, where she served on the Board of Directors and held various committee memberships. Also a member of the Widowed Persons Service since 1978. Ruth Also served as a Pink Lady at Fallbrook Hospital, California.Ruth and Ted were members of four square dance groups: The Promenaders, East Millcreek Squares, Jessie James' Square Dance Group and the Stars and Squares.
Survivors: daughter, Judith L. (Mr. and Mrs. James R. Nielsen, Jr.) Newhall, California; and son, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Price (J. Eileen) Salt Lake City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. Scott E. Nielsen (Cindy) Dustin and Danielle, Castaic, California; Mitchell E. Price, Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Laura K. Price, Salt Lake City; two brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. Price (Dorothea), West Jordan; Mr. and Mrs. James L. (Darlene) Williams, Gig Harbor, Washington; and Ms. JoAnn Stowell, Murray. An infant son, Charles Harold, preceded her in death July, 1956 in Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, April 29, 1991, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East First South, where friends may visit Sunday, 7-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday. Those wishing, may make contributions in Ruth's name to the March of Dimes. Interment, Wasatch Lawn. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.
