Wendell Theodore Hackett, born April 4, 1919 to Robert Roy and Lillian Hackett, passed away April 25, 1991.

Married to Audrey Coleman May 8, 1944; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1956. Wendell was a veteran of World War II. Wendell held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be remembered for his overwhelming consideration of others and his love of service.Wendell will be missed more than words could ever describe; but, the rich legacy of love he fostered will live forever in his family and friends. Wendell loved just about everything and everyone: being a Grandpa - at soccer games, as a toy maker, or as a river runner, and when it came time to collect kisses; a GOOD round of golf; horses; Christmas time and Christmas trees; telling people about his "hole-in-one;" working with wood; Cokes and Mars bars; organizing a party; being a salesman; looking for pheasants; coaching a little league team; telling a joke; eating at the "kids" houses; laughing with friends; anything Irish; Audrey's flowers; and, helping someone in need.

Wendell, we love you higher than the mountains, higher than the birds fly, higher than the sky - even more than that!

Wendell is survived by his wife; sons and daughters: Craig and Beverly Hackett, Brent Hackett, Kim and Linda Hackett, Rory and Linda Hackett, Heidi and Bob Emery, Lizabeth Hackett, and many grandchildren - Ryan, Tiffany, Coleman, Mandi, Jared, Karli, Lance, Aimee, Lindsey, Haley, Kalli, Natalie, Zack, Holly Jo, JW, Austin, Parker, Spencer; and his sister Helen Romney.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 noon, April 30, 1991 in the Canyon Rim Ward, 3100 East 3000 South. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, and at the Ward on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
