Utah Job Service has received the Michael J. Nastick Award in recognition of superior performance in the employment service and unemployment insurance areas.

Utah was identified as the top state in the region and among the top five states in the nation. The agency's performance was judged excellent in numerous program audits performed by the U.S. Department of Labor. Some of the factors measured include:- Number of job placements

- Number of job referrals

- Percentage of referred individuals placed

- Timeliness of issuing employment insurance benefits

- Processing and timely handling of unemployment insurance trust fund monies.

The award was presented to Job Service administrator Floyd G. Austin in Denver during a meeting of Region VIII administrators.
