Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Royal Carl Mursener, age 81, passed away April 23, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born February 20, 1910, in Helper, Utah, the son of Otto William Herman and Hazel Blanche Cook Mursener. Married Shirley Moffat, August 3, 1944, in Salt Lake City. Majored in Chemistry at the University of Utah, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1932, Master of Arts in 1934 and Certificate in Business Administration in 1960. Also affiliated with Sigma Nu and Alpha Chi Sigma Fraternities. Was hired as a Chemist in 1933 for Product Quality Inspection Laboraties of Utah Oil Refining Company; advanced thru technical supervisory administrative management; retired in February of 1973 as Superintendent of Technical Services at Amoco's Salt Lake City refinery. Member, LDS Church; member, Kiwanis Club of Golden Agers; charter member, Willow Creek Country Club; member, Toastmasters Club.Royal loved life, particularly his wife, daughters, their families and his friends. He had a capacity of enjoying whatever he was doing, whether it be work, play, sporting activities, civic involvment or just plain relaxing. He and Shirley enjoyed traveling and he especially enjoyed the golfing and bowling that took place each Wednesday for nearly 20 years with long-time friends and fellow employees.
Survived by wife, Salt Lake City; daughters: Leslie (Mrs. Jerry) Hudson, Plummer, Idaho; Lynne (Mrs. Vaughn) Marietta and Lorie (Mrs. Jay) Gonzales, both Salt Lake City; six grandchildren, Jesse Neal Hudson; Todd Isaac, Brett James and Matt David Marietta; and Gary Michael and David Royal Mursener-Gonzales; and niece, Marjorie Boone. Preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Bohen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27th, 12 noon, in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
