Ever since the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District announced plans to ration secondary water, various Davis County cities and irrigation companies have devised their own rationing plans.People who do not comply with the water-rationing rules face possible disconnection and stiff fees for reconnection nextyear.

Some cities, such as Centerville and Bountiful, have imposed criminal penalties for non-compliance.

Here's a town-by-town rundown of the water rules:

Bountiful

Residents with secondary water systems can use that water for three hours per day twice a week. Residents of even-numbered addresses can water only between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Odd-numbered addresses can only water during the same hours on Tuesdays and Fridays. Culinary water can be used to supplement secondary watering but only during the same times.

Residents who do not have secondary systems can use their culinary water according to the secondary schedule but for a total of up to six hours per day twice a week. However, faced with numerous complaints from these residents, the City Council may reconsider a more liberal schedule.

Centerville

Rules apply to culinary and secondary water usage. Residents may water for three hours per day, twice a week. Even-numbered houses can water only on Mondays and Thursdays, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Odd-numbered addresses are restricted to the same hours and limits on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Clearfield

Most of the city is on culinary water only. There are no restrictions on culinary water usage, although the city encourages conservation.

The few who have secondary systems are restricted to three hours per day, twice a week. Odd-numbered houses can water only on Tuesdays and Fridays. Even-numbered addresses can water only on Mondays and Thursdays.

Farmington

The restrictions apply to secondary and culinary water. Odd-numbered addresses can water only on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Even-numbered can water only on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. No watering is allowed on Friday or between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Fruit Heights

For secondary water users, odd-numbered addresses can water only on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Even-numbered houses can water only on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. No watering is allowed on Fridays or between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. There are no restrictions on culinary water usage, although the city is urging voluntary conservation.

Kaysville

For both secondary and culinary water usage, odd-numbered addresses can water only on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sundays. Even-numbered addresses can water only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. No watering is allowed on Fridays or between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Layton

Most Layton residents have no secondary system. No restrictions have been placed on the culinary water usage, though that may change, depending on whether residents conserve. Secondary water users can water three hours per day, twice a week between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Odd-numbered houses can water only on Tuesdays and Fridays. Even-numbered can water only on Mondays and Thursdays.

North Salt Lake

The few residents - about 10 percent - who have secondary systems will be limited to three hours per day, twice a week between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Odd-numbered addressed can water only on Tuesdays and Fridays, even-numbered on Mondays and Thursdays only.

There are no restrictions on culinary water usage, although the city urges conservation.

West Bountiful

Rules apply to culinary and secondary water. Watering allowed three hours per day, twice a week between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Odd-numbered addresses can water only on Tuesdays and Fridays, even-numbered on Mondays and Thursdays.

Woods Cross

For culinary and secondary water usage, watering is allowed three hours per day, twice a week between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Odd-numbered houses can water only on Tuesdays and Fridays, even-numbered on Mondays and Thursdays only.
