Soviet security officers disarmed a hijacker at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport Monday after he tried to divert an airliner to Iceland, Tass reported.

The official news agency said the hijacker, a 30-year-old man from Siberia, demanded that the jet be refueled and flown to Hamburg and then Reykjavik, Iceland.Security forces moved in when the plane, a TU-154 en route from Siberia to Moscow, taxied to refuel.

The incident was the latest in a series of hijackings that have plagued Soviet aviation in recent months.
