Irean Alvey Heaps, 92, passed away at the Heritage Convalescent Center in American Fork, Monday, April 22, 1991.
She was born May 5, 1898 in Escalante, Utah to James and Cynthia McInelly Alvey. She married Levi Duane Heaps, August 7, 1917; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, July 15, 1925. He died May 3, 1985. She was raised in Escalante and attended schools there. She was a member of the LDS Church, and was ward chorister in Sevier. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, in Springville, and was a Springville resident until 1986. She also enjoyed traveling.She is survived by four sons, Van Heaps, American Fork; Gerald Heaps, Pleasant Grove; James C. Heaps, Orem; S. Ray Heaps, West Valley City; two brothers, Alfred Alvey, Idaho Falls; Evan Alvey, West Valley City; one sister, Vila Fender, West Valley City; 30 grandchildren, 108 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Guardner and W. Ken Alvey.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 26, 1991 at the Springville 8th Ward Chapel, 355 East Center, Springville. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South, and on Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
