Richard Grant Collins, 69, died Monday, April 22, 1991 in Ogden.

Born August 6, 1921 to Thomas F. and Dorothea Arntsen Collins, in Arco, Idaho. Married Adelaide Lewis, August 9, 1944 in Biloxi, Mississippi; marriage later solemnized February 9, 1957 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. He grew up in Salt Lake, then moved to California. Served in World War II, in the Army Air Force. He and his wife resided in New York, then went to California, where he owned and operated his own sign company. For the past 22 years he has lived in Utah. Member LDS Church, Layton 5th Ward. Served numerous stake missions, was Stake Mission President in San Mateo, California.Survived by his wife, Layton; two sons and three daughters, Michael Collins, British Columbia, Canada; Mark Collins, Layton; Kathleen Amesquita, Mehama, Oregon; Mary Curry, Kaysville; Sharon Grigg, Sandy; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen C. Cella, Renton, Washington; Ruth Price, Payson. Preceded in death by one grandson, Dane Collins Curry, two brothers, Glen Collins, Thomas Collins.

Funeral services Wednesday, 1 p.m., Layton 5th Ward Chapel, 1410 Gentile, with Bishop Mel Teeples, officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, 12-12:45 p.m. at the church. Funeral services under the direction of Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
