The Writers at Work Conference is scheduled for June 23-28 this year. The Yarrow Hotel in Park City will serve as the hub and headquarters again, with some readings and other activities booked for other parts of the resort.

The facts are these: Cost is $340, due by May 15. The fee will cover tuition, individual manuscript consultation, panels and readings.Visitors should arrange their own lodging. The Yarrow itself is taking reservations.

The conference will also offer undergraduate and graduate credit.

Workshops will cover mystery writing, poetry, memoirs, screenwriting, fiction and non-fiction.

Several top writers - such as Rick Bass, Charles Baxter, Doug Peacock and Bob Shacochis - will be available for consultation.

Besides Writers at Work, several other writers conferences are being offered this year.

4 The Southern Utah University Writing Conference has been set for July 29 to Aug. 2. in Cedar City. There will be open readings and other events free to the public.

Faculty will include poet William Kloeffcorn, children's writers Ivy Ruckman and Pete Peterson and poet Scott Cairns.
