A fifth grade girl brought a .22-caliber handgun and up to 150 rounds of ammunition to a Burlington County school for a "glorified show-and-tell," police said Saturday.

The 11-year-old at Thomas O. Henry Middle School apparently had no intention of using the weapon, police said. The girl, whose name was not released, was detained by police before the end of classes Friday afternoon."She could have held us off for a long time," Sgt. Tim Richardson said. "It was an advanced, glorified show-and-tell."

The girl took the handgun and three boxes holding up to 50 rounds of ammunition each from home without her parents' knowledge. She carried the gun around in a small bag slung around her waist and passed out about 30 bullets to schoolmates.
