An Ogden man accused of kidnapping a woman, sexually assaulting her and then stabbing her nine times has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
Henry A. Lindsey Jr. entered his plea Wednesday during arraignment before 2nd District Judge David Roth. Lindsey will now undergo a psychological evaluation to determine if he was insane when he attacked the woman on April 1.Roth set a May 8 hearing to get the results of the evaluation and set a trial date.
Lindsey is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of attempted murder.
Prosecutors say the defendant forced the woman at knifepoint into an apartment on Washington Boulevard, where he allegedly raped her.
Lindsey is accused of then stabbing the victim in the torso, arms, legs and head. The woman grabbed the knife and threw it out a window. The victim escaped through the same window where she ran outside naked screaming for help.
The woman has recovered from her injuries.
