Afton Ethel Berrett Jessen, 70, died April 18, 1991 at home after a long illness.
Born November 7, 1920 in Park City to George Albert and Etta Alice Walke Berrett. Married Asa William Jessen February 9, 1946 in Elko, Nevada; later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died October 22, 1975. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, hunting for rocks and she did beautiful handwork.Survived by children, William G. Jessen, Altamont; Merlin Frank Jessen, Sr., Altonah; Johnny D. Jessen, Robert Glen Jessen, both Boneta; Kathy Jean Bird, Blue Bell; brother, Robert Berrett, Rangley, Colo.; sisters, Betty Clark; Edith Timothy, both Garland; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by gransons, Rodney William and Asa Lloyd Jessen; brothers, George and Marlan Berrett; and sisters, Blanch Carroll and Gladys Guenon.
Funeral services Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Lake Fort LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the family residence Friday, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday at the church, one hour prior. Burial, Mt. Home-Boneta Cemetery. Funeral directors, Olpin-Hullinger Mortuary.
