A festive tea to welcome new members to the Salt Lake Ballet Guild will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the home of Marilyn Roskelley, 4452 Abinadi Road.
Membership in the guild is open to anyone interested in helping to support Ballet West through various fund-raising projects and community education programs. Those belonging to the organization participate in activities, receptions and meetings, and often have the opportunity to meet dancers, staff members of the ballet company and trustees. General meetings of the guild include programs presented exclusively for members and their guests.
Guild members also serve as coordinators for Ballet West's educational symposiums, which are presented without charge to the public. The first of the free symposiums scheduled to open this year's season will focus on the ballet, "Romeo and Juliet." The symposium will be held in the Capitol Theater lobby at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14.
