Clara Johnson Sumsion, 93, passed away in Salt Lake City on April 17, 1991.

Born December 15, 1897 in Springville, Utah to Mont and Harriet Thorn Johnson. Married Glen W. Sumsion on June 18, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 7, 1959. Active in the LDS Church all her life and served in many leadership positions. She was President of the Springville Stake Relief Society. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in public health nursing in Granite and Nebo School Districts. She served as President of the Utah State Nurses Association. She was President of theHafen-Dallin Club and active in P.T.A., American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her life was characterized by loving and unselfish service to family, church, community and neighbors.

Survived by three sons, Robert J. Sumsion (Naomi), Springville; Owen W. Sumsion (Joan) and Richard G. Sumsion (LaPrele) of Salt Lake City, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ann, a brother, Chester Johnson, and six sisters, Harriet Whiting, Margaret Miner, Maria Johnson, Zina Johnson, Lucile Mead and Lydia Wilson.

Funeral services Saturday, April 20th, 11 a.m. Wheeler Mortuary, 200 East 200 South, Springville. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary, and 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
