Edith Larsen Lewis passed away peacefully on April 15, 1991 in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born April 20, 1917 in Moab, Utah to John Parley and Mary Viola Barton Larsen. Married to Gail Z. Lewis on September 8, 1944 in Portland, Oregon; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 28, 1944. Later civilly divorced. Edith graduated from Murray High School where she was active in speech and was student-body vice president. Attended the U of U. She was gifted in the art of fine needlework and enjoyed singing. She served in the LDS Church as a Primary and Sunday School teacher and as ward YWMIA president. She was loving and devoted to the Gospel and her family.Survived by her children, Mrs. Terry P. (Meredith) Sorensen, Bountiful; Johnparley L. (Kathleen) Lewis, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, Melanie, Richard, and Steven Sorensen; and Robyn, Kari, Brad, Jana, and Sarah Lewis; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Rulon M. (Golda) Richards, Josephine Larsen, J. Reed (Mary) Larsen, Mrs. Von G. (Clara) Adamson, all of Salt Lake City; and Sterling B. (Mildred) Larsen, Bountiful; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; a son, Richard G. Lewis; and two sisters, Wanda Larsen and Cloe L. Wilson.
Edith's family offers a special "Thank You" to her extended family at Park View Nursing Home for the loving care they have given to her during the past many years.
Funeral services on Friday, April 19, at 12 noon, Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. and Friday, the hour prior to service. Burial, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
