Warren E. Jones, 78 year old Provo resident, died Monday, April 15, 1991, in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 16, 1912 in Huntington, a son of Benjamin and Sara Frances Foote Jones. He married Elva Hardy, December 20, 1933, Castle Dale; their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1936. She preceded him in death September 7, 1973. He married Glendoris Jean Kranz, January 31, 1974 in the Provo LDS Temple. He attended Huntington schools. He had worked for the CCC, as a custodian at Monticello High School, as a coal miner, and for many years as a custodian for the LDS Church. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a High Priest at the time of his death. He had served missins to Texas in 1982-83 and Alabama in 1984-85. He had served on two stake missions and as ward clerk. He had been involved in Scouting and enjoyed horses. He operated a sharpening shop out of his home for many years.Survivors include his wife, Provo; two sons, Richard LaMont Jones, England; Warren Jewel Jones, orem; two daughters, Daisy VanWagoner, Cleveland; LaFawn White, St. Johns, Arizona; three stepsons, James Lunan, Gresham, Oregon; Ronald Lunana, Kirkland, Washington; Dan Lunan, Magna; two stepdaughters, Coralee Anderson, Chula Vista, California; Jacqueline Barrett, Lynwood, Washington; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Que Jones, Manti; Peter Jones, Spring Glen. He was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
Services 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 1991, in the Edgemont 4/6 Ward Chapel, 4100 North 650 East, Provo. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo, Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church 12:45-1:45 p.m. Saturday. Burial: East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
