Hurry carefully Ashley Brown takes "Crazy Olympics" seriously as he cautiously races a spoonful of water across a long gym floor in order to help his teammates fill a glass of water before any of the other teams. Children ages 6 through 13 participated in six team relay races Friday afternoon at Jackson Elementary in their pursuit of "Crazy Olympic" champs. The "Crazy Olympics" was part of a weeklong celebration of National Boys and Girls Club Week. Locally, more than 8,000 young people attend the Boys and Girls Clubs, which are private, non-profit agencies that help in the positive development of youth. Other activities scheduled for this week are art and photography contests, Personal Safety Courses, Community Service Activities, Drug and Alcohol Awareness and Field Trips.
