An autopsy was inconclusive in the death of a man found Friday at 5900 South and 300 West, Murray police say.
Harold Lee Schmitt, 48, was found by a jogger and Utah Department of Transportation employees early Friday morning. The victim's personal belongings had been scattered in the road, according to Murray Police Sgt. Ed Riet.Riet said authorities were looking at several possibilities, including the possibility that Schmitt was hit by a car.
Authorities are hoping toxicology test results will shed some light on the case. Murray Police Lt. Dee Rowland said police will have to wait up to seven days for those results.
Schmitt had a Washington driver's license but had apparently been staying in the Provo-Salt Lake City area, police said.
