As part of its safety program, the Davis County Public Works Department has awarded certificates and prizes to its employees for ticket-free driving.

According to county commissioner J. Dell Holbrook, who oversees the department, 90 percent of the public works truck drivers who have been with the county for two or more years have not been ticketed for a moving violation in that time.And, none of the department members have received a traffic ticket in the past year, he said.

Those receiving two-year safe driving certificates are: Glenn Anderson, Chad Britt, Carl Hansen, Cloyd Hess, Jan Ingalls, Joe Mark, Linda May, Don Napples, Wayne Pollock, Bill Tezak, Bert Warren, Larry Baker, Rocky Hamblin and Bob Petro.

One-year certificate awardees are: Mick Crockett, Rene Sepulveda, Vickie Gale, Marty Martinez, Gary Locke, Walter Grambow and department director Sid Smith.
