A Springville company is on track to hire 100 new employees for a multimillion dollar project to build interiors of new Amtrak Superliner passenger cars.

AeroTrans of Springville expects $12 million to $16 million of work as a subcontractor to the Canadian-based firm of Bombardier, which won a $340 million contract to build 140 passenger cars - with an extension possible for another 39.Most of the work is expected to be performed at Bombardier's Bensalem, Pa., plant.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who announced the AeroTrans subcontract, said, "This will mean 100 new employees for the AeroTrans facility in Springville." Hatch said he participated in negotiations with Amtrak and AeroTrans for almost two years.
