An Illinois man has filed a class-action lawsuit against Paula Abdul and Virgin Records, claiming fraud and saying "Forever Your Girl" and the "Opposites Attract" video were not labeled to show singer Yvette Marine contributed to the lead vocals. Marine filed her own suit claiming she was denied credit.
The new suit by Elham Jarad asks unspecified damages for "deceptive trade practices."Abdul has tearfully denied deception. "I sang the lead vocals on every single song," she told reporters in Los Angeles. "I haven't deceived (fans) in any way, shape or form. They hear on my album what they paid for." And her manager complains that Abdul's career is now "being held hostage by a media circus."
Meanwhile, Abdul is set to dance in new commercials for L.A. Gear shoes, whose ads with Michael Jackson did far better overseas than domestically.
