An arrest warrant has been issued for one of two men charged in July with cruelty to animals after investigators discovered 125 rabbits suffering from starvation and dehydration.

The warrant, issued by 3rd Precinct Justice of the Peace Dan K. Armstrong, seeks the arrest of Bruce Henroid. A second man, Robert Marquardt, has not appeared in court but has contacted officials and may be negotiating the charges with the Salt Lake County attorney's office, said Humane Society investigator John Paul Fox.The Humane Society sold 70 of the 90 surviving rabbits at an auction earlier this month to recover part of the investigation costs and expenses of caring for the rabbits, Fox said. Another 20 rabbits that did not sell were euthanized.
