Southern Cal football coach Larry Smith suspended two players from the team who were arrested along with another man for investigation of a series of robberies and a kidnap charge, authorities said.

The three are being held on $100,000 bail each, said Lt. Ron Hall of the Los Angeles Police Department. Freshman safety Howard Earl McCowan, 19, freshman cornerback Marcel Lamont Brown, 20, and Garlyn Cornelius Coleman, 19, were booked for investigation of robbery Wednesday police Lt. John Nelson said.
