The University of Utah won the Nevada Spring Invitational this week over 13 teams at the Wild Creek Golf Course in Reno.

The Utes stormed back from 16 shots down the final round Tuesday to beat Cal State Stanislaus, the Division II NCAA champion. Utah shot a final round 288 to finish at 897, four ahead of Stanislaus. San Diego State was third, followed by host Nevada, which is ranked 16th in the nation.Brett Taylor, a transfer from Northwestern, led the Utes with a 223 total, good for second place. Ross Marcano (224), Phil Holmes (226), Marty Romney (230) and Jeff Keye (234) were the other Ute players.
