Fifteen people died in 14 traffic accidents during March, the Utah Highway Safety Office reported.

Its monthly tally of fatal traffic accidents showed an increase in traffic deaths compared with the same month last year, when 10 accidents claimed 12 lives.But year-to-date totals are lower this year than last. During the first three months this year, 41 people have died in 37 traffic accidents compared with 55 fatalities from 45 accidents the year before.

Of the 15 deaths in March, one involved a pedestrian, another a bicyclist and another resulted from an auto-train collision.
