A California Air National Guard search and rescue helicopter on a training mission in Southern California crashed into a mountain and burned, killing all six people on board, officials said.

The helicopter, assigned to 129th Air Rescue and Recovery Group based at Moffett Naval Air Station 30 miles south of San Francisco, crashed at 10:55 a.m. Thursday about 130 miles northeast of Los Angeles, said Sgt. Carolyn Hamilton.Four National Guardsmen and two airmen from George Air Force Base near Victorville were killed in the crash, Hamilton said.
