The Utah Humanities Council has funded the 1991 Classical Greek Theatre festival pre-play orientation for high school and college students and the general public.

This grant includes a study guide that introduces the mythic, historical and literary backgrounds of this year's production of "Iphigneia inTauris." The early morning play will be staged this fall outside various Salt Lake locations. It will then travel throughout the state and neighboring states later in the autumn. The grant enables more than 3,000 people to attend free lectures by professor James T. Svendsen, dramaturgefor the production.

Scott LaFeber will direct "Iphigeneia in Tauris," a romantic comedy which has been compared to "Helen" in structure and plot.
