Two University of Utah faculty members are among 89 scientists and economists to receive Alfred P. Sloan Foundation research fellowships.

Thomas G. Richmond, chemistry, and David Jonah Grunwald, neuroscience, will each receive grants of $30,000. The grants will be distributed over a two-year period to the U. Sloan fellows are free to pursue whatever research interests them and can use the funds in a variety of ways.The Sloan fellowship program began in 1955 to provide funds for outstanding young scholars. The foundation has invested nearly $58 million to support more than 2,600 researchers.
