A Northwest jetliner with at least one blown-out tire and an engine shut down made an emergency landing Wednesday with 104 people aboard, an airline spokeswoman said. There were no injuries.

Flight 791 took off from Fort Lauderdale International Airport en route to Detroit at 8:19 a.m. when one, or maybe two, tires blew out, Northwest spokeswoman Christy Clapp said. The pilot of the DC-9-30 turned off one of the jet's two engines when instruments in the cockpit indicated the engine may have sucked in some tire rubber, Clapp said.
