More than 50 central Utah service and assistance organizations will be on hand May 17 for the the free "Showcase of Services" conference.

The conference will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Utah Valley community College, according to Bill Hulterstrom, director of United Way of Utah County and chairman of the event.More than 100 representatives from city, county, state, church, law enforcement, medical, clinical, civic and volunteer organizations will make presentations on the services they provide.

Topics include financial planning, crime prevention, eating disorders, spouse abuse, help for rape victims, mental health, pollution, guardianship, functional illiteracy and juvenile crime.

Agencies and organizations wishing to make presentations at the conference should call the United Way at 374-2588.
