The Davis County Democrats Saturday elected Todd Taylor as their new party chairman for the next two years, replacing J. Dell Holbrook. Taylor, a chiropractor, managed Holbrook's successful campaign for county commissioner last fall.

Holbrook is the first Democrat to serve on the commission in more than 40 years.In their convention Saturday, the party also elected Laura Phelps as vice chairman; Sadie Sanford, treasurer; and Greg Sanders, secretary.

At its first awards banquet Friday night, the party presented its Native Son award to former governor and senator Cal Rampton, a Bountiful native. Rampton is out of town and did not attend the dinner. His son, Tony Rampton, accepted for him.

The party presented its Native Daughter award to longtime worker Louise Henson, currently the state representative to the national party.

Ron Erwin and Peggy Erwin were presented the volunteer service awards for 1990.
