Funeral services were held Monday for Stanford McClellan, former national commander of the Mormon Battalion. He died April 17, 1991, at age 66.
A lifelong educator and teacher, Mr. McClellan was also a specialist in earthquake preparation for Mountain Fuel.He was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Logan to Charles E. and Josephine Haws McClellan. He married Beverley Watson on July 16, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A graduate of Utah State University, Mr. McClellan served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
