Donald Ted Smith, 62, died April 13, 1991 from a heart attack.
He was born March 25, 1929 at Santaquin, Utah, a son of Fred Revere and Mary Ewell Smith. He married LeOra Simons, August 26, 1949 at Payson. He retired from Geneva Steel Corp. in 1986 after 36 years of service as a Fire Captain. He also worked as a carpet layer for many years.He is survived by his wife of Payson; two sons and a daughter and their spouses, Don Lee and Pauline Smith, Payson; Ralph Smith, Salina and Karen and Terry Haney of Salt Lake; 15 grandchildren; two brothers and eight sisters, Richard F. Smith, and Leah Thomas both of Spanish Fork; Forrest Lynn Smith, Bernita Fields and Meralda Davis all of Santaquin; Anne Montague, Payson; Mildred Jensen, Goshen; Larue Mecham, Beaver Dams, Arizona; Pat Argyle Tooele and Colleen Hatfield of Springville. He was preceded in death by: a son, Ted Dean Smith; a daughter, Connie Lou Carter; two brothers, Joseph & Bill Smith and a sister Sarah Smith.
Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. in the Payson First LDS Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. or at the church Wednesday, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
