Ethel Louise Burks Robinson, 57, died peacefully in her home, with her husband by her side, Saturday, April 13, 1991 of Lou Gehrig's disease.
Born December 8, 1933 in Tyler, Texas to Lillie Edna White and Homer Bostic Burks. She married Fahy Spencer Robinson June 15, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She lived in Texas as a child, and moved to Salt Lake City in 1947. Graduated from East High School and attended Stevens-Henager Business College. Member of the Pleasant View 2nd Ward, where she was active in many callings. She loved music and sung in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for many years. She had been a guest singer for the Governor of Utah, LDS General Authorities, as well as participating in many church programs, funerals and she often performed duets with her husband.She had been employed at Stevens-Henager College as a teacher and administrative assistant. She accompanied her husband to Mexico for 2 years to supervise microfilming for the LDS Church Genealogical Society. She lived in Germany with her husband while he was stationed in the Army.
During her lifetime, she was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survived by her husband, North Ogden; one daughter and three sons, Lillie Barnes, South Ogden; Fahy Robinson, Jr., West Point; DeVon Robinson, Salt Lake City; and Stephen Robinson, Ogden; four grandchildren, Angie Moses, Tyler Moses and Brandon Moses, all South Ogden; and Chase Robinson, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by one brother, Myrl Files.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Pleasant View 2nd Ward Chapel, 250 West Elberta Drive. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., Tuesday, 7-9 p.m and at the church on Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomend Cemetery.
