Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Elmer T. Leake has been elected as the new president of the Antelope Island chapter No. 3 of the Footprinters Association.

Leake, a 39-year veteran, is the most senior employee of the sheriff's office and will preside over the law enforcement support group. The group is a pro-law enforcement organization with more than 6,000 members consisting of police officers, prosecutors, judges, elected officials, businessmen and other community members interested in law enforcement.Salt Lake County surveyor Carl Larsen was elected as first vice president and Bob Odor Jr., a 17-year veteran deputy sheriff, was elected as second vice president.

Hans Hunger was elected as secretary, Gary Pratt as treasurer, Bud Ellett as counsel, Bill Meehan as sergeant at arms and Stan Jacobson as grand board director.

John Jensen, Click Banberger, Michael Donoso and John Schroen will serve on the 3-year board of directors for law enforcement. Robert Lewis, Art Buell, Dave Spatafore and Nick Floros were elected members of the three-year board of directors for civilians.

- Emma Houston has been appointed to the board of directors for the YWCA of Salt Lake City. Houston is a field director with the Utah Girl Scout Council. She is also a volunteer for the Salt Lake branch NAACP and the Intermountain General Baptist Association of Churches.

As a member of the YWCA board, Houston will assist with public policy, racial justice issues, membership services and fund raising.
