A shooting review board plans to report its findings about Tuesday's fatal shooting by police officer James Crowley to chief Police Chief Dennis Nordfelt Monday at 10 a.m.
Nordfelt said he will then make a decision about returning Crowley to duty. The officer has been on administrative leave with pay since the Tuesday incident in which he mortally wounded Rick Lockyer, 37, after the man threatened Crowley and another officer with an ax when they responded to a call of a neighbor dispute. The internal shooting review board and the Salt Lake County at-torney's office routinely investigate all incidents in which a police officer uses a weapon in the line of duty.
Both investigations have been completed, Nordfelt said. "I will take my action based on my shooting review board."
