Starting quarterback Ron Lopez and junior college transfer Greg Angelovic highlighted a 90-minute Utah State spring football scrimmage Saturday.

Lopez completed 11 of 17 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns while Angelovic was 11 of 19 for 111 yards and also two touchdowns."The offense and defense were a little out of sync," said Coach Chuck Shelton, "probably because we're just a week into our learning of the systems. The intensity level for a first scrimmage was good but from a defensive perspective, I was disappointed in the big play (a 60-yard scoring pass from Lopez to Dexter Pointer).

In addition to Pointer, Lopez also threw a scoring pass to Tracey Jenkins. Angelovic's TD tosses were 19 yards to Toney Jenkins and 21 yards to Rod Moore.

Letterman Floyd Foreman carried 11 times for 24 yards while newcomer Robbie Clemons had 11 carries for 40 yards. Roger Grant, who gained over 1,000 yards last year, is being held out of spring drills while recovering from shoulder surgery.
