A male nurse living in Wyoming has had his Utah nursing license indefinitely suspended by state regulators, an order said.

Richard Marlon Steed, Cheyenne, is working under a conditional license in Wyoming to settle charges of unprofessional conduct in that state. As director of nursing at South Lincoln Medical Center last year, the order said, he admitted to taking 52 vials of Demerol. The order issued by Utah's Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing said Steed doesn't anticipate practicing in Utah. But the division indefinitely suspended his license, subject to his compliance to conditions in Wyoming and written notice to the Utah nursing board requesting a lift of the suspension.
