"Work Force Rights and Responsibilities" is the title of a State Industrial Commission seminar Thursday and Friday, May 16-17, in the Hilton Hotel.
Commission Chairman Stephen M. Hadley said the seminar is designed for attorneys, employers, employees, human resource managers, health and safety administrators, corporate administrators and officers, labor and employee association officials and self-insured employers.Topics scheduled for discussion are the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the value of the federal unemployment tax, hazardous waste and emergency response, sexual harassment in the work place, ergonomics, minimum wage and youth employment, discrimination in employment and employer reports.
Besides Hadley, the speakers will be Rep. James V. Hansen, R-Utah; Rep. William H. Orton, D-Utah; Joseph A. Cannon, president of Geneva Steel; Kelly K. Matthews, vice president and chief economist for First Security Corp; Gerard F. Scannell, assistant secretary of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Others are Byron R. Chadwick, regional administrator for OSHA, and former Utahn John Florez, deputy assistant secretary of labor.
