A Riverton man has been charged with criminal homicide in the death of a woman who was a passenger in his car.

A 3rd Circuit Court complaint filed Monday charges Gregory J. Bardin, 25, 1841 W. 12960 South, in the death of Jacqueline Anderson.Anderson, 24, 8476 S. 1275 East, was riding with Bardin on Pioneer Day when the man's vehicle drifted off southbound I-15 at 90th South; Bardin overcorrected and the vehicle rolled from an off-ramp, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The victim was partially ejected in the accident and was dead at the scene, the UHP said.

The court document claims Bardin lost control of the vehicle when he threw a can out of the car, and that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.24, nearly three times the amount at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.
