Michael Adams scored 30 points and Jerome Lane grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds as Denver snapped a 10-game losing streak and narrowed San Antonio's lead in the Midwest Division to a half-game with a 125-122 victory Friday night.

The Spurs' record dropped to 54-27 with one game to play, at home against Dallas on Sunday. Utah, at 53-27, could pull even by winning at home on Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers and clinch a tie with a victory at Golden State on Sunday.If the Jazz and Spurs finish in a tie, Utah would win the division because it won the season series against San Antonio.

After Willie Anderson's layup for San Antonio tied the score 120-120 with 1:04 left, the Nuggets went ahead 121-120 on a free throw by Adams. David Robinson, who finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds, put the Spurs ahead 122-121 with two free throws with 36 seconds to go.

But a three-point play by Lane put Denver ahead to stay at 124-122.

Terry Cummings missed an open jumper from the lane that would have tied the score. Denver's Orlando Woolridge rebounded and was fouled by Robinson.

Woolridge, who scored 27 points, made one of two free throws to make it 125-122 for Denver with 9 seconds left.

San Antonio's last chance died as Anderson's pass was intercepted by Woolridge.

San Antonio rallied from a 66-58 halftime deficit to outscore Denver 43-24 in the third period and take a 101-93 edge going into the final period.

Reggie Williams scored 23 points for the Nuggets, and Anderson finished with 24 for San Antonio.
