Keith Montague, owner of Bailey-Montague & Associates, an advertising company, received a Silver Medal from the Utah Advertising Federation Wednesday during a noon luncheon in the Red Lion Hotel.
The award is given annually to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the many advertising fields, especially one who has furthered the industry's standards, creative excellence and civic responsibility, federation officials said.Robert G. Love, chairman, and Donald C. Ware, president of Harris & Love Advertising, said Montague is not only well-known for his contribution to the art side of advertising but is "one of the best all-round advertising men we've ever known and a copywriter, account executive, salesman and consummate art director."
Montague is an East High School and University of Utah graduate. His advertising career began in 1946 when he joined R.T. Harris Advertising. In 1958 he left the advertising agency business to become sales and advertising manager for Carleson Cadillac.
In 1960 he joined Richard Q. Bailey to form Bailey-Montague & Associates and today it is the largest commercial art studio between Denver and the Pacific Coast.
