Extra bones were surgically removed from the feet of Denver Nuggets guard Chris Jackson and top scorer Michael Adams went into the hospital for a battery of tests to determine what's ailing him.

The club said Dr. Steven Traina performed the surgery on Jackson's feet Wednesday to correct a congenital problem common to about 15 percent of the population. Jackson will be in casts for several weeks and is expected to resume playing in time for the Nuggets' rookie camp in late July.Locally . . .
