A federal court jury convicted a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent Tuesday on drug trafficking and money laundering charges stemming from the worst corruption scandal in the agency's history.

The jury, on its sixth day of deliberations, found Darnell Garcia, a DEA agent for 10 years who prosecutors said "crossed the line" from fighting illicit drug trafficking to participating in crime, guilty of each of the five counts against him.Garcia, 44, faces up to 90 years in prison and nearly $6 million in fines. He was convicted on one count each of conspiracy, theft of heroin, distribution of heroin, and two counts of money laundering.
