"Lalique: A Century of Glass for a Modern World," featuring more than 150 glass pieces, will be on show at the New Orleans Museum of Art April 13-June 10.

The exhibits are glass objects, cosmetic accessories, jewelry, design sketches, maquettes, molds and historical memorabilia, on loan from private American collections. They reflect the artistic achievements of one of the most significant family names in 20th-century decorative arts.Among the works of Rene Lalique (1860-1945), founder of the famous firm of that name, are his jewelry designs for actress Sarah Bernhardt, the first commercial scent bottle, glass sculptures and decorative art objects.
