Jennie Oaks Workman, age 87, died at an Orem nursing home, April 12, 1991.
She was born August 31, 1903 in Vernal, a daughter of Edwin L. and Annie Christine Allen Oaks. She married William Henry Workman November 10, 1921 in Vernal. He died October 19, 1968. She was a homemaker and worked in retail sales for the J.C. Penny Co. Active member of the LDS Church; served as Relief Society President, in the YWMIA, and in the Primary for many years. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, serving in an executive capacity. Active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was dedicated to her own family and also to her brothers and sisters and their families. She was a wonderful neighbor, serving others unselfishly.Survived by son and daughters, Dr. Dan J. Workman, Orem; Mrs. Kenneth E. (Lluanna) Timothy, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hugo (Enid) Hullinger, Washington, Ut.; Mrs. Asa R. (Jean) Johnston, Vernal; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Mrs. Tom (Ila) Herbert; Kenneth Oaks, and Dan Oaks, all Vernal.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, in the Glines 4th Ward Chapel, 1485 West Highway 40. Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary, Sunday, 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.
